Essentia began with a familiar problem: moving somewhere new and having to find a room through scattered posts, group chats and screenshots from strangers.
The problem is bigger than listings.
Rooms are spread across social posts, messaging groups and listing sites. Details like utilities and move-in dates are often missing. Some posts ask for money before anyone has seen the place. And even a perfect room can go wrong if the people you share it with live completely differently.
It’s hardest for people without a local network: international students, graduates starting a first job and anyone relocating to a city they don’t know yet.
